When we talk about colour in diamonds we
are really talking about the lack of colour, whereas clarity refers to
the natural inclusions inside the stone that can be seen with a 10x
magnifying lens. The advice that we give our customers is to focus on
the things that they can see with their eyes as opposed to the things
that they can not. This is why colour is much more important in diamonds
than clarity.
When it comes to clarity we often refer
to ‘acceptable clarity’. This means that if you look as hard as you like
and can not see the inclusion, then it is acceptable. At , Xennox Diamond World
we prefer to sell the top three colours, D, E and F, as this is where
the pure white diamonds are. As I personally hand pick every diamond
that we use, I always strive to find the most eye clean diamonds that
allow our customers to allocate more of their budget to a whiter larger
diamond.
